Conference Day Three: Business, Training and Family Time

Monday was a very successful first day of delegate sessions, with six first-rate training courses and one great plenary session in the afternoon featuring Jennifer Thompson-Cannino, author of Picking Cotton: Our Memoir of Injustice and Redemption, and her personal experience with eyewitness identification.  Thank you to all our presenters and sponsors for supporting an outstanding program.

Nearly 1,000 delegates attended the annual general meeting and luncheon and participated in the association’s official business for the year.  Featured speaker, Dan Costa, shared his personal experience on how the important “Partnership” between 5.11 Tactical Series and the FBINAA was forged.  This one was worthy of a standing ovation.   On Monday night, a vast majority of delegates and their families enjoyed good food and plenty of fun and exciting attractions at the Museum of Science.

Tuesday is the final full day of the conference and includes another series of break-out sessions and an afternoon plenary session “Marketing Your Agency”.  Tuesday is also a special day for section IV members as they elect their next section representative.

Tuesday evening is the Gala Banquet in Ballroom ABC (3rd floor) at the Hynes Convention Center.  Reserved seating is required.  The reception begins at 6:00 pm on the 3rd floor foyer.  Call the command center at 202-573-3500 if you need assistance.  The attire is semi-formal.  It’s always the social event of the year and is sure to cap off a great conference.

Be sure to attend those all important sessions and get ready for a wonderful dinner gala!
