Ground Transportation Options
Conference Shuttle Service
The conference plans to provide shuttle service for attendees upon arrival to and departure from Boston. Specific services will include the following based on attendee arrival and departure schedule:
Boston South Station serves Amtrak, commuter rail, bus and subway. The Station is located at Atlantic Avenue and Summer Street. www.south-station.net.
Parking
Overnight parking is available at the Sheraton Hotel, but is very expensive ($39-42 per night). As a result, the conference will offer an alternative off-site parking option for attendees.
Pre-arrangements must be made for the off-site parking alternative. Upon arrival, the attendee will meet first at the Sheraton Hotel and then be escorted to the off-site lot to leave the vehicle. Passengers will be driven back to the Sheraton Hotel for check-in. The conference will provide a return escort back to the attendee’s vehicle from the Sheraton Hotel at the end of the conference. This service does not include in-out privileges.
Please contact the conference planner, Mark Lorimer, at mark@eventivegroup.com to request off-site parking during the conference.Taxi Service from Logan Airport
One-way taxi service from Logan to the Sheraton Boston Hotel is estimated at $35 (including a $2.25 airport fee and tunnel toll charges – does not include gratuity).
Boston taxis are available at Logan terminals 24 hours a day and service all of New England. Areas within a 20-mile radius of downtown Boston are charged a metered rate. Beyond the 20-mile radius the charge is a flat rate. All fares are based upon the occupancy of one to four passengers per taxi.
Station wagons, accessible taxis for persons with disabilities, and credit card taxis are available upon request at Logan Airport. See a Massport Ground Transportation agent, located outside of each terminal on the arrival level, for further assistance. Station wagon and van taxicabs are entitled to an additional $6 fee if a passenger has excessive luggage, skis or boxes. Passengers needing a lift-equipped or ramp-equipped taxi to get to Logan Airport should call their local taxi company directly. These specially equipped taxis are available from Boston, Cambridge, and some other surrounding towns at no additional fee.
All fares leaving Logan Airport are charged a starting meter rate of $2.60 and a $2.25 airport fee. Each additional 1/7 mile is charged at $0.40. Travel through the harbor tunnels will cost an additional $5.25 toll fee. It is recommended that you ask the taxi driver for a receipt showing the driver's name, taxi company, amount paid, and medallion number.
All taxicab drivers are required to accept any passenger who has a disability, including their service animal. Wheelchair accessible vehicles are available upon request at no additional charge. Call the Hackney Division of the Boston Police Department at 617-343-4475 for accessible taxi service.
All Boston licensed hackney carriage vehicles are smoke free. No driver or passenger may smoke at any time in the vehicle. A passenger who refuses to stop smoking in the vehicle can be requested to leave the vehicle until such time as he/she extinguishes the item.
